Overview

From concept to acquisition in just 18 months - this is the story of how Danubio partnered with dashCMA to bring a bold real estate tech idea to life.

In this case study, you’ll see how we built the product from the ground up, provided full-cycle technical leadership, and helped turn a founder’s vision into a successful exit.

The Vision

In 2018, a real estate entrepreneur approached Danubio with a bold vision: to build a modern, data-driven solution for one of the industry’s most critical — and outdated — tasks: home pricing.

Traditional CMA (Comparative Market Analysis) tools were outdated, time-consuming, and often left sellers confused. The idea was to create dashCMA, a sleek, interactive tool that could help real estate agents present pricing strategies in a clear, visual, and client-friendly format - all on a single screen.

To bring that vision to life, we set out to build a platform that would integrate real-estate data to generate smart pricing insights, let agents compare listings, trends, and valuation models at a glance, and provide both shareable, interactive reports and polished, professional PDFs — all wrapped in an intuitive experience that felt nothing like the old tools.

Market Context

The real estate technology (PropTech) market serving agents is both ripe with opportunity and challenging. Home pricing and CMA tools are essential for agents to win listings, yet many legacy solutions are outdated.

dashCMA’s niche was in providing a fast, visually compelling CMA platform that could replace clunky MLS (Multiple Listing Services) generated reports.

Its target users were real estate professionals (agents, teams, brokerages) looking for a competitive edge in pricing presentations.

By 2020, dashCMA’s potential was recognized by a major real estate software provider which acquired dashCMA to integrate into its platform. Learn more.

The Challenge

Building dashCMA was not a simple endeavor. Three key challenges stood out:

The Solution

To tackle these challenges, dashCMA partnered with Danubio to provide end-to-end product development services and became the startup’s de facto engineering team and technical partner/advisor.

From initial architecture through post-launch support, the key aspects of our solution included:

The Result

Danubio's comprehensive involvement yielded outstanding business outcomes for dashCMA:

Conclusion

In summary, Danubio's partnership powered dashCMA to achieve rapid growth and a lucrative exit. The founder was able to focus on vision, marketing, and industry relationships while Danubio took care of executing the technology flawlessly.

Danubio didn’t just build dashCMA — we became a true technical partner, owning the product development from idea to acquisition, allowing the founder was able to focus on vision, marketing, and industry relationships. This case exemplifies how the right development partner can accelerate a startup’s success, transforming an idea into an acquisition-ready business in a short span.

Testimonial

Working with Danubio was like having a world-class technical co-founder on our team. I came in with a vision for a better pricing tool for agents – Danubio’s team took that vision and made it a reality at lightning speed. They crafted a beautiful product that our users loved. The fact that we went from a concept on paper to an acquisition by a major industry player in just 18 months says it all. Danubio’s commitment, expertise, and genuine care for our business were beyond what I expected from an agency. They weren’t just developers; they were strategic partners every step of the way. I couldn’t have asked for a better tech ally.
